Name: Jared Cline, CR5
Major: Accounting, Computer Science/Math Minors
Graduation Year: 2016
Current Location: MAc Program, Texas Christian University, Fort Worth, TX
A Fort Worth native, Jared Cline spent his time at TCU as a Neeley Fellow and a member of Beta Theta Pi.
He spent the summer of 2013 on Cultural Routes 5 and recounts his favorite city as Berlin:
"My favorite city on CR5 was Berlin because somehow it blends together all of the incredible history from World War II and the Cold War Era, the uniqueness of the German culture, and the incredible modern skyline and atmosphere into one whirlwind experience."
When asked about his favorite CR memory, Jared recounts the long trek across Cinque Terre:
"My favorite CR memory was hiking along the Italian coast in Cinque Terre. While enjoying the world-class scenery, I was able to reflect on the first half of the trip and get to know the other people on the trip even better."
He reflects on CR's impact on his post-grad life:
"Cultural Routes had two major impacts on my life--it helped me broaden my perspectives and created a friend group for me that remains important in my postgraduate life. While my CR5 familia has had an immeasurable effect on my life, the change in perspectives helped me become a better student and citizen. Oftentimes people say that TCU students live in a bubble, a saying that holds true most of the time. It was easy for me freshman year to mentally live in a world where all I really focused on was Fort Worth and the Horned Frogs. Cultural Routes brought to life the TCU mission statement for me and gave me a way to visualize the people and events that live and occur in other parts of the world."
